SOUTHWESTERN CURRY, SOUTHEASTERN DE BACA AND NORTHWESTERN ROOSEVELT
COUNTIES...

At 736 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Taiban, or 11
miles east of Fort Sumner, moving east at 35 mph.

HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable
         tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes,
         roofs, and outbuildings.

Locations impacted include...
  Fort Sumner, Taiban and Tolar.

This includes Highway 60 between Mile Markers 321 and 361.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Anyone outdoors should move to shelter inside a well-built structure
and stay away from windows. This storm is capable of producing
widespread damaging winds and large hail.

Wind damage with this storm will occur before any rain or lightning.
Do not wait for the sound of thunder before taking cover. Seek
shelter immediately inside a sturdy structure and stay away from
windows.
